Congratulations Mrs. Dunne!
VMMS 2012 - 2013 Teacher of the Year |

 |
Mrs. Dunne gained a passion for teaching while in the Peace Corps in Samoa, and since has been a science teacher at VMMS for 13 years. Trained as a research scientist, she began her first nine years at VMMS as an academic science teacher in the eighth grade, then moved into the encore department where she now teaches 7th grade Extreme Science and 8th grade Forensic Science. Utilizing a teaching philosophy of ‘innovative discovery’, this self-proclaimed science geek always seeks to bring on the ‘wow’ factor to build and maintain student enthusiasm about the wonder and spectacle of science. From crime science whodunits to Angry Bird marshmallow launchers, there’s always something exciting afoot in Mrs. Dunne’s class.
