Teacher of the Second Quarter
Steve Ferullo has been overwhelmingly nominated to be the Teacher of the Second Quarter for the 2011-2012 school year. In addition to being an energetic and motivated teacher within the classroom, his enthusiasm for VMMS shows through in everything he volunteers to do for the school community. Just a few of the things you will find him doing throughout the school day, as well as afterschool are: helping out the PTA with their gift auction, creating a FAN ZONE for students to stay afterschool to root on their favorite sports teams, as well as helping to organize a game between the VMMS and LRMS Boy Basketball Teams! Great Job Steve, keep the fun coming!!!!
Staff Member of the Second Quarter
Our Staff Member of the Second Quarter is Karyn Brino, a seventh grade Paraprofessional. Karyn has been assisting the same student since he was in Kindergarten and has been extremely dedicated in helping him with everything he needs on a daily basis. In fact, since she has been with her one-on-one student for so long, she has also has the pleasure of watching many of his schoolmates mature over the years and can often be observed helping any one of the students that needs assistance in any way. She is truly a committed member of our staff and VMMS is lucky to have her!
Teacher of the Quarter for September - November 2011
Library Lil has been nominated our Teacher of the Quarter, for the First Marking Period. Since coming to Veterans Memorial Middle School she has worked tirelessly, both during the school year, as well as in the summer, to ensure that the VMMS Library continue to be a welcoming environment for both teachers and students. Not only has Lil reorganized the entire library, but she has also spent a lot of time trying to improve the reading selection available for everyone to use. The improvements to the library have not gone unnoticed and we are proud to have her as a part of our teaching staff!!
Staff Member of the First Quarter
Our Staff Member of the Quarter is a member of our custodial staff, Kevin Miller. Kevin takes pride in the work he does every day and goes out of his way to help people whenever he can. In addition, he tries very hard to ensure that he provides a great environment to welcome both the teachers and students every morning. Kevin is an asset to our school and we are lucky to have him!
