Lake Riviera Middle School Receives State Honor for Character Education for the Second Consecutive Year
An outstanding character education program which includes a comprehensive infusion approach that maintains and models a positive moral community has earned Lake Riviera Middle School, Brick, NJ, the title of “State School of Character” by Rutgers University and Character Education Partnership (CEP).
Lake Riviera Middle School is unique as its strength lies in the infusion of Character Education into daily activities and lessons. With the addition of service-learning, the moral component of Character Education, ethical and performance values are reinforced through community, organizational and family partnerships. The caring community of Lake Riviera Middle School strives for excellence by continually reflecting on its Character Education program in order to meet the needs of its students, their families and the community-at-large.
Lake Riviera Middle School will be honored for their outstanding work in character education with an award celebration at Rutgers University during the New Jersey Alliance for Social, Emotional and Character Development's 3rd Annual Statewide Conference on March 22, 2010.
