VMES "Hearts Helping Haiti"
On February 19th, our VMES community (in conjunction with Rotary Early Act service organization) kicked off their “Hearts Helping Haiti” effort in collaboration with the and district wide relief effort for Haiti. Students are requested to perform chores at home to earn extra change or a dollar, which can then be deposited into the “Hearts Helping Haiti” house located in the main office. VMES’ goal is to collect enough money to purchase a Shelterbox for a Haitian family. Each Shelterbox costs $1,000 and contains a ten-person tent, along with all living supplies and necessities for a family’s survival (including enough water purification tablets to provide a family of ten, clean drinking water for three months).
