Congratulations to the 2010 Celebrate NJ “Best of the Best” student journalists from Brick, NJ!
We are proud to announce the 2010 Celebrate NJ “Best of the Best” student journalists from Brick! This statewide writing contest challenged fourth grade students to use their research, reading, writing, critical thinking, technology and presentation skills, while developing pride in their home state of New Jersey. These talented writers were honored at a special ceremony at Monmouth University. Student articles will be soon be published in the online newspaper, The New Jersey Scoop, sponsored by Celebrate NJ. Twenty-three students from Brick’s seven elementary schools were selected for publication both online and in local newspapers from over 7,000 fourth graders who participated, statewide. In addition, Emma Havens Young School’s, Jersey Jeopardy was chosen as one of the “Best of the Best” in the Class Project category. Pictured are students from Emma Havens Young Elementary School.
