Brick Memorial High School has a PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) and is the youngest PTA in our school district, it’s been difficult staking our claim over the past few years. We have made a lot of headway and want to thank our community and volunteers for their support! Here is what we have been doing this year:
Mark Your Calendars: PTA meetings are held the first Tuesday of Each Month @7PM Teachers Lounge. Special Meetings/Parent University Presentations – October’s Meeting on Teens, Alcohol, New Township Ordinance, Cops in Shops Program, DART was well received and attended. Below are some upcoming special meetings (we are trying to plan one every other month) If you have suggestions for other topics we would love to hear about them:
v December 6th 7:00 PM Bully Alarm will present a Parent Information Session on Bullying/Signs/What to Do As A Parent if your child is bullied or accused of bullying.
v February 7th-Teen Dating Violence & Abuse. Workshop for Girls and their Parents-Special Presentation by Deborah Holliday MSW Bully Alarm and a young woman with a personal story to share. Dating violence is a serious problem in the United States. Many teens do not report it because they are afraid to tell friends and family. According to a CDC 2010 Report:
• 72% of 8th and 9th graders reportedly “date”.
• 1 in 4 adolescents report verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse from a dating partner each year
• About 10% of students nationwide report being physically hurt by a boyfriend or girlfriend in the past 12 months.

v Upcoming late Winter through Spring: Engraved Bricks Sale & Spring Dinner are planned to raise funds to place a Bronze Mustang in front of our building. The Mustang was donated to the school several years ago and was originally placed on a wooden platform which over the years deteriorated. Our PTSA is raising funds for a concrete footing to permanently place our School Mascot in front of Brick Memorial. It will be a fine tribute to our school’s tradition and spirit!
v We are raising funds to purchase a Wireless Microphone for our Football Field to enhance the current system we hope to accomplish this through our wreath sale. It would be nice to hear all the announcements made during events!
v The PTA will be also purchasing equipment to enhance stage sound in our auditorium. We have children and faculty working hard presenting amazing productions and assemblies…we would like to hear their efforts! We are looking at floor microphones and overhead microphones. We would like to thank NY Life and their dedicated Mrs. Johnson for contributions through their employee program, this program combined with PTA funds are making this possible.

Our PTSA also offers scholarships each year to Graduating Brick Memorial High School Seniors; we provide a special Teacher Appreciation Thank You to the Staff at Brick Memorial during the month of May; we keep our parent community informed on issues which affect our children. Our Goals always evolve around nurturing community spirit in our schools by supporting our children, schools & community.
